1 Browning, Zack  Zack Browning’s research with algorithmic composition has focused on the structural applications of magic squares to musical form and on the timbral possibilities of computer-generated sounds produced by GACSS (Genetic Algorithms in Composition and Sound Synthesis) being combined with instrumental timbres. 2004
2 Lund, Erik Ragnar Lund's works have been commissioned and/or performed by more than a dozen ensembles, including the Arditti Quartet (UK), Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (Italy), Crash Ensemble (Ireland) and Wolpe Trio (Germany), as well as by several soloists. Professor Lund’s works have been performed at major festivals in the United States, Europe, and South Korea, and are recorded on Opus One Records, Cybele Records, and Einstein Records, and are published by Media Press and Brixton Publications. 2004
3 Machala, Kazimierz  A native of Poland, Kazimierz Machala is an active performer, composer, and teacher. Professor Machala, who was the first horn player in Juilliard's history to receive the Doctor of Musical Arts degree, received third prize at the 1974 International Music Competition for Woodwinds and Brass in Prague. 2004
4 Makan, Keeril "Working to create emotionally engaging musical experiences, American composer Keeril Makan combines an exploration of the rich detail inherent in sound with an unmistakably visceral energy. Drawing from diverse sources such as American folk music, the European avant-garde, Indian classical music, and minimalism, he synthesizes a music that, in its sheer intensity, thwarts assumptions of what is beautiful." 2004
